Was Michael Jackson Murdered?

of an odd duck with a penchant for prescription medication, so, although his sudden death on June 25th was surprising, it was not truly shocking.  His face had been on a collision course with collapse for years, and his erratic behaviour and drug use was so common as to be yawn-worthy. To be honest, I'm surprised that his final demise didn't happen earlier.

This is where his story takes a sad turn, though. Wait, it's always been sad. This is where his story takes an even sadder turn. All his instability, drug use, and supposed pedophilia might not have been what did him in. La Toya Jackson, Michael's sister and face mimic, has stated in an interview with the London newspaper News of the World that she believes he was murdered.

“We don't think just one person was involved in the murder. It was a conspiracy to get
Michael's money," La Toya said. Apparently, Michael expressed fears a couple of years ago that "they" were going to kill him for the catalogues of his work, but La Toya hasn't named any names that would shed light on who, in particular, "they" are.

And La Toya is not alone in her belief that her brother's death was was the end result of a conspiracy. Joe Jackson, their controversial father, has seconded her allegation: “I do believe it was foul play. I do believe that."

There is a long standing record of Michael Jackson's prescription drug use, but according to members of Jackson's family, his drug abuse might have been perpetuated by the same people he relied on most to maintain his seemingly fragile health in a bid to gain access to his dwindling wealth.  This theory is so completely believable and so completely sad that I would almost rather the truth be that Michael was a garden variety drug addict than a misled sheep following a pack of disguised wolves.  The longer his legion of doctors continues to conceal his medical records, though, the more La Toya's allegations of conspiracy ring true.

In a life rife with high drama, this terrible final twist puts such a sad and pathetic stamp on the end of Michael Jackson's life, a life in which he gave to the world so generously of his creativity and talent (nasty pedophilia aside. Ick). All I can think is this: Say it ain't so, Michael, say it ain't so.
