I hate summer. HATE IT. It’s been over 90 degrees in New York City for a month straight. When the sun does stop shining it’s because of a thunderstorm. The humidity has made my hair look like a Monchichi doll that’s been at the Goodwill too long. Outdoor activities must be done in five minute increments with copious popsicle breaks and frozen margaritas firmly in hand. But what’s the point of going outside? After fifteen minutes, everyone is back inside huddled in front of the air conditioner begging for mercy. It’s freaking miserable. So what do I turn to in my times of trouble (especially times of trouble that require being locked inside)? The P.S. 22 Chorus. That’s right, the upstart internet darlings make everything feel all right. And in summer, crying is a very cooling activity. Here are my top five favorites:
“Forever Young” is heartwrenching when it comes out of the mouths of babes:
“Pictures of You” always makes me tear up:
I’m not the biggest Coldplay fan, but P.S. 22′s version of “Living La Vida” is awesome:
It’s “Landslide.” Can’t type, crying:
The cast of Glee may have done it, but these kids do it justice. That’s right, “Don’t Stop Believin’”:
