MamaPop Sparklecorn 2010: Director’s Cut

screen capture 2 300x216 MamaPop Sparklecorn 2010: Director’s CutYesterday we gave you the MamaPop Sparklecorn 2010 teaser trailer.

This morning? You get the whole shebang.

And what a shebang it is. Boy howdy.

When MamaPop’s resident photographer, Ryan Marshall of Pacing The Panic Room, previewed the completed video below for me last night, I’m not ashamed to say I quite literally cried the first time I watched it. Since then, I’ve probably watched it two dozen times (OCD much?), and I’ve been thinking quite a bit about why it brought me to tears. My conclusions?

1. To my mind, this video perfectly captures the fruition of an honest-to-god labor of love that both Amy and I worked hard for months to bring to life, and that gives me unadulterated warm fuzzies;

2. It shows a bunch of women together, uninhibited and joyful, dancing their asses off and letting loose completely — and when do you see that, really? (not often enough, as far as I’m concerned);

3. You, the party people who were in the hizzouse, are freaking rock stars, SERIOUSLY. I want to take you all home and cuddle with you and make you all be my BFFs (hair-braiding and pillowfights at my house tonight, y’all!).

But enough of my mush — I could go on for days like this, and I’ll spare you that particular horror. Instead, go ahead and crank up the volume on your computer, and hit PLAY below to see what I’m gushing about (note: the track on this video contains some NSFW language, so if you have headphones, use em’).

Major props again to the amazing ladies at BlogHer, without whom none of this would’ve been possible, for real.

    This video almost captures the awesomeness of that night. Almost.

    (Though the only footage of me suggests that I was spending the evening trying to dislodge food from my teeth. While on the stage.)

    But really. Thanks for a great time. See you in SoCal!

    Hi! I clicked over from Pacing The Panic Room to see this awesome video… but I can’t see it! I guess I don’t have permission?

    “The creator of this video has not given you permission to embed it on this domain.

    This is a Vimeo Plus feature.”

    Is it just me getting this message? I totally understand and respect privacy concerns, but I’d love to see it if nobody minds! Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

    This video makes me very sad that I didn’t make it to New York. Can NOT wait for San Diego in 2011, you know, just so I can go to Sparklecorn again!

    I must say that I have major Unicorniphobia and was hesitant to attend this party (I still may never recover from the unicorn cake) but once I heard the rockin’ music and saw all the awesomeness on the dance floor, I knew I had found home. So glad the video guy got me shakin’ it like a Polaroid picture! What a blast that night was!!!
