Prince William and Kate Middleton’s official engagement photos show that not only are they wealthy and royal and super popular, they are also stupidly photogenic.

Kidding. Aren’t they cute?

Photographer Mario Testino got this very sweet gig, and the photos were released today, a mere four months before their April 29 wedding. He has also shot Prince Charles for Vogue, Kate Moss for other stuff, and Prince William’s late mother Diana, Princess of Wales (whose original engagement ring is featured prominently in both shots, so suck it, haters.)

He said Will and Kate “appeared in their prime and were brimming with happiness” when he took these sweet pictures on November 25.

They look almost like a future king and queen of England, 2010-style, don’t they? And we’d better get used to looking at these shots now, because they’ll be on everything from tacky t-shirts to wall clocks in very short order.

    Well, sure they are cute but Will is getting sort of frowsy. There’s something about English men–they make such cute children and then they get kind of puffy. Haven’t you noticed that? Did you ever see the 1960s Zefferelli Romeo and Juliet? There was not a cuter kid that that Romeo played by Leonard Whiting but post 35–look out!

    Anyway, it will be cute. He’ll bald and start to look like an old squash in the grocery store and she’ll stay pretty fine until her early 60s. That is my prediction. Unless they have head transplants or something for people as rich as her in the future.

      Oh, great. Can’t stop staring at Charles’ hands now.

      Harry’s always been the cuter one. But they are an adorable couple. As a pre-teen, I got all dreamy about Diana’s engagement etc. but looking back with adult eyes, I don’t think they ever looked convincingly in love. These 2 do and I’m glad. I’m sure it’s not an easy life, despite the perks. So if they are really connected, that will make it more bearable.

    He… I don’t… Is his hair thinning, or is it just the cut that makes him look so… hmm. The picture with both boys and their dad, he was such a cutie. Which isn’t to say he’s unattractive now, it’s just the hair is a little confusing. He looks very open and sweet. And she is GORGEOUS. (Does anyone else notice that in the top picture she’s looking right and he’s looking left? Am I imagining that?)

    Maybe it’s just that he got a rather unfortunate haircut right before the photo shoot, one that makes him look more like his dad and shows off that genetic GIANT FOREHEAD. Hopefully he goes back to the slightly longer, rumpled gelled look from before, instead of the “Oh snap, now I’m getting married and I need to look like a grown up” haircut he seems to be sporting now.
