Top Ten Songs You Should Have Downloaded This Year

record 525x309 Top Ten Songs You Should Have Downloaded This Year

If you are anything like me, you live your life according to song. Every single day is a new soundtrack, a true opportunity to change your tune about your life. As crazy as this year has been, music has been there the entire time. Sometimes comforting, sometimes saddening, sometimes maddening, but always there, always loyal. With 2010 nearing an end, I started to reflect on some of the best songs to cross my eardrums this year. Not to be stingy, I made a list for you to check out. So grab an adult beverage, slide on your earphones, and enjoy some of the best tunes of the year.

“After the Storm” by Mumford & Sons

“Monster” by Kanye West (Featuring Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Nicki Minaj)

“Shelter” by The xx

“To All My Friends” by Atmosphere

“Dog Days Are Over” by Florence and the Machine

“Dancing On My Own” by Robyn

“Cooler Than Me” by Mike Posner

“Crown On the Ground” by Sleigh Bells

“Airplanes” by B.o.B (Featuring Hayley Williams and Eminem)

“The Ghost Inside” by Broken Bells

This is just a tiny fraction of the melodies that have ravaged  my mind and graced my ears this year. What do you think? What were your top songs of the year? Pleased to hear your thoughts, internets.

Remember. You aren’t supposed to hit things with sticks. Especially Jesus. Or… Kenny Loggins. (“Whenever I Call You Friend” is ruined for me forever)

Great list! I’d also have to add “Love the Way You Lie” by Eminem/Rihanna and “F**k You” by CeeLo Green. Both of those were constantly in my ear this year. Hey, that rhymes! :)

Love this list. I did my own, and had a lot of the same songs on it (I didn’t have Broken Bells on there, now I wish I did).

I was going to listen to the Robyn song but Vevo has blocked it in my country because of copyright reasons. I’M IN SWEDEN. ROBYN’S SWEDISH! Youtube gives me RAGES.

I will have to add anything from LCD Soundsystem’s “This is Happening” album. Especially “Drunk Girls,” “Pow Pow” or “Dance Yrself Clean.”

Definitely agree with Mumford & Sons, Kanye, and Broken Bells. Also really been loving Wye Oak- http://www.wyeoakmusic.com/ (Baltimore’s next big thing) and Fistful of Mercy (Dhani Harrison! Ben Harper! Some other guy!)

Airplanes was my song for months. Loved that. Also, I adore Mumford and Sons. Currently I adore Michael Buble’s Haven’t Met You Yet. Also…and it’s country so feel free to ignore me. But my theme song this past six months has been A Little Bit Stronger by Sara Evans.
