It is something of an upgrade.  From “Hey, Green Mile Guard!” to “Aren’t you Ethan’s dad from Lost?” all the way to, “I heard you married a teenager!”  Congratulations, Doug Hutchinson.  You’ve come a long way [to marry a] baby.

Okay, I shouldn't make fun of you for marrying who you wish. So I'll make fun of your character's name: Percy Wetmore? Was the role of Silas Sweatsalot already cast?

E! News has confirmed that Doug Hutchinson, of The Green Mile, Lost, and X Files fame, said “I do” to a teen bride on Monday in Las Vegas. Okay, okay…judge not lest someone throw rocks at you (er, something).  And parents of gonna-be country singer Courtney Alexis Stodden, 16, signed off on the marriage, in accordance with Nevada law.  So, really, it’s none of my business.  Just be forewarned, Doug, your wife was 4-years-old when The Green Mile came out so she probably thinks John Coffey is the new of the new size at Starbucks.

    1. This is beyond disturbing and I honestly believe that the FBI and the local police need to do an investigation into their relationship; and I hope one of these news outlets reporting on this story, make sure that the authorities are contacted, if they haven’t been already. I have questions like everyone else reading this story; what state were they married? Did one of her parents give her legal consent to marry this old man or was their legal consent forged? Were her parents paid or received some type of compensation (I doubt this, but it must be asked, as no sane parent would do this to/for their 16 year old daughter)? Are her parents mentally capable of signing their consent for her marriage? 2. Because, again, I can’t imagine any sane parent allowing this, let allow signing their consent for this disgusting man-child relationship. Did the couple have sex before they were married–what age was she, when they had ANY type of sexual relations? If so, this IS ILLEGAL and should be investigated and prosecuted…perhaps get a warrant for her medical records and see if she was on birth control or research credit card records to see if condoms were purchased from either of them. I would also look at his past relationships…has he dated children before? Does he have mental problems (besides the obvious)? Has he had sex with other children? 3. Rather he is married to a child or not, isn’t it STILL considered statutory rape—because she is not mentally developed enough to consent to this type of relationship? Now, like someone else mentioned…if he takes (or has taken) any type of photos or videos of her in a sexual nature, isn’t this considered pedophilia? This sickens and disturbs me, beyond words and I think this guy needs to be investigated and charged with multiple crimes against a child…now it’s up to the police to actually do their jobs and protect our children and public in general, from creeps like these.

      They were married in Vegas and her mother signed something to make it legal. The only thing that I don’t understand is if they have sex? It would definitely be illegal and her mom can’t sign anything to make it legal. Obviously the police should keep tabs on them on their HONEY MOON. Another problem I have is if anyone will do anything. Does the police make a blind eye to this because they are rich and famous? Brittany Spears’ younger sister had a baby when she was underage with an older man and I haven’t heard anything about him going to jail? Bottom line is… I don’t think anything will happen unless she tells anyone. Otherwise they are getting it on as we speak and no one can do anything about it unless there is proof.

    Teenage boys get thrown onto the Sex Offenders registry for consensual sex with their girlfriends, but this is legal? The law is a bit outdated, don’t you think?

    These parents ought to be whipped. How can er FATHER give his child away to an old man like this? But sadly, this is the situation for a lot of female children. The parents train teach their daughters to try to find a man with money/security to “take care of them”, no matter HOW much older he is. Meanwhile they teach their sons how to “be somebody in life”. Big difference.

    Even my own mother & grandmother tried to do this crap to me. At 16 they started hammering into my mind that I could go with a man who would “take care of me”. When I said “But he’ll be wrinkled” my grandmother’s response was “When he gets excited the wrinkles go away”.

    I RESISTED. They couldn’t make me and I didn’t but now that I’m grown I am soooo disappointed in them for trying to steer me towards pedophiles.

    I told my story because it could’ve been like this one. It’s absolutely terrible being the female child. HER parents wanted the $ and for him to “take care of her”. Her parents don’t care about anything else & won’t teach her to take care of herself or get an education.
