Available Soon at Alfred Angelo Bridal: Bella’s Wedding Dress from ‘Breaking Dawn’

Attention Twilight-loving brides. If you were planning on cribbing your wedding plans from Breaking Dawn, the good news is your dress concerns are totally covered. Alfred Angelo announced their stores will be selling a replica of the top-secret dress, designed by Carolina Herrera, starting this November.

Available in sizes 0-30W, brides of all shapes and sizes will be able to model their own special human-sparklyvamp unions after Bella’s and Edward’s down to every last lacy detail. If Alfred Angelo’s replica of Kate Middleton’s wedding gown is any indication, it’ll be a faithful interpretation.

I kind of thought wedding dresses were like prom dresses, in that you want to feel you’re the only one with that particular dress, so I don’t get the knock-off trade. And, honestly, how many of us are going to look as good in a gown Kate Middleton or Kristen Stewart wore first, particularly when it’s made in a factory from lower-end fabrics?

I photograph a lot of weddings, and in at lest a third of them, the dress has been directly or indirectly inspired from a celebrity. In some cases ( probably around one in ten?) she also takes that celeb’s colour scheme or other major details, because she not only loved them, but loves the celeb. I hear things like ‘I felt very royal’ and ‘I feel very hollywood’.. Which is fine, I guess, especially if you happen to live in the Midwest and maybe don’t have a strong idea of glamour otherwise.

That picture of the “Kate” gown is rather atrocious… the Angelo version looks much more authentic in person. (I saw it last week when I went in for my fitting. It’s dreamy. When I wasn’t attempting to make out with the Disney Princess dresses, that is.)
