Katy Perry made headlines in the Philippines this weekend after pulling a young man onstage for a kiss. The man in question was Ivan Dorschner, a 21-year-old reality star from Manila, who was selected at random to engage in a little onstage flirting with Perry. The Philippine Star, a local publication with a flair for the dramatic, described Perry’s behavior as ”torrid flirting” during “a raunchy segment … in a generally for-adults-only show.” The paper found the whole thing quite scandalous: “After scanning the crowd and telling the men in the audience to strip off their shirts if they wanted to come up onstage with her, she finally chose the chiselled Dorschner to give her a taste of the Philippines.” Bom-chicka-wow-wow.
After the concert, which was the final show in her tour, Perry took to Twitter to set the record straight about the staged aspect of the kiss. “Btw, I have *kissed* 1 boy, picked randomly out of the audience, on the cheek as a part of my show for all 125 tour dates. Simmer down now.”
