Oh thank GOD. With great shows like American Horror Story, Dexter, and Boardwalk Empire having recently ended their all too brief seasons, the pickins are a little slim on my DVR these days. Thankfully, I am ecstatic to report that Don Draper will be gracing us with his alcoholism and womanizing once more, as Mad Men returns on March 25 after a ridiculously and inexcusably long hiatus due to contract negotiations.
I understand y’all got to get paid, but try not to let it stand in the way of my enjoyment of quality 1960s social commentary next time you want a raise.
The first episode of the season, which will spring us into 1966, will be directed by Jon Hamm. Both of these intriguing factoids are doing absolutely nothing to quell my excitement. 1966 is kind of big in terms of history, social justice, and awesome music, so I’m kind of geeking out a little over this. Unfortunately, my calendar informs me that March 25 is 10 1/2 weeks from now.
Exactly, Don. WHAT, indeed.
