The Official Trailer For “The Woman In Black” Is Released

The Woman In Black is a movie based on Susan Hill’s 1983 novel, The Woman In Black (So creative, these movie-naming-people!). Never in my life has my nerd-love of Victorian-Style Ghost Stories and my slightly-lesser nerd-love love of Horror Movies met in such a perfect place. And Dear Sweet Baby Jesus,  Daniel Radcliffe is playing the lead role. It  comes out February 3rd, and excuse me but I’m just going to go sit in front of my local theater.

About Kelly Q

Kelly Quirino is pretending not to take herself seriously and waiting for that to actually come true. She lives in the middle of the country with her husband and her two ridiculous children: The boy who happens to be The World’s Tiniest Anarchist, and the girl who, at 4 years old, claimed GLaDOS as her spirit animal. When she is not chasing said children around or trying to remain interesting and reasonably charming while writing about herself in the third person, she is a knitter, an obsessive reader, and really good at Putting Things Off. She also blogs at Go Go Gadget Zen.

We saw MI:Ghost Protocol this weekend, and got to see a trailer for this. As one who doesn’t like horror movies (but I’ll do suspense), I was quite intrigued. Knowing it’s a book has me headed for my library, so I can prep before the movie hits theatres.

I saw a staged version of The Woman In Black when I was living in London during the late 1990s and I CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE.

This reminds me…I should line up a sitter now as this might not be the best first movie for my three year old.

I almost pee myself everytime at the end! It looks SO GOOD!

Nope. No way. Uh-uh. I shouldn’t even have watched the trailer (dolls! puppets! freaky monkey-puppet musician things!). I’ll most likely never sleep again.
And yes, I fully admit to being a total wuss about horror/ghost stories.
I’m going to have to watch something light and fluffy now to calm my jangling nerves…

This is why I didn’t hit play at all.  Am complete wuss.  I can’t even watch Buffy.  (that is, about one in three of the first-season episodes were too dark for me, which means I can’t watch it because there’s no way to know which ones will be over the edge)

Dolls, clowns and crucifixes. I don’t feel safe in my own home anymore.

Interesting take. Normally, it’s a woman all alone in a haunted house– because they scream prettier and have breasts.
