You guys remember planking, the bizarre Internet sensation? HAHAHA THAT WAS FUNNY.
(I mean, was it supposed to be? Because I do not get young people humor these days.)
Thankfully, the fad dwindled, and for a hot minute it appeared that owling was going to be the next big thing, but then people realized that HEY! Let’s just watch TV instead!
And it was so.
But now another trend is popping up on YouTube and elsewhere on the Internet, and much to my dismay, it actually looks incredibly awesome and entirely like something *I* would have done in high school. (Which is, as a mother, not good. I did many NOT GOOD things in high school).
(Sorry, Mom!)
It’s called “Supermanning”. The stunt involves the following:
1. A moving car.
2. Three people.
3. A video camera.
4. Balls.
Preferably, the person holding the camera is in the front passenger seat, so that the driver isn’t *also* manning the camera, as it appears in the image above (omfg). The third person, seated in the back, then sticks his or her body out of the window to create the appearance of flying.
The following pops to mind.
1. Decapitation
2. FALLING OUT OF THE CAR.
3. Falling out of the car AND decapitation.
Oh, and it’s probably totally also illegal. But none of this will register with the teenagers of the world, who are probably skipping school RIGHT NOW to get the best video from that road that kind of overlooks the mountain. Though, I dunno, this original is pretty damn funny.
Here are some other noteworthy examples of Supermanning.
Supermanning apparently dates back to 2009, but is seeing a resurgence, especially in South America. It’s only a matter of time, however, until it’s in the States and luring our children to tempt fate by HANGING OUT OF A MOVING CAR’S WINDOW.

Anyway, I think I’m gonna go lie down now.
