Last week, a very lovely and well-spoken eighth grader named Julia Bluhm spent the day demonstrating in front of Seventeen Magazine‘s New York headquarters. She had started a petition to ask Seventeen to shoot one photo spread a month without the help of Photoshop, which has since collected more than 26,000 signatures. Seventeen said NO THANK YOU to Julia Bluhm because they are super committed to continuing their role as part of the problem. Photoshop does not only harm the body image of young girls, however. It can be much more dangerous than that. LET’S TAKE A LOOK.
Whitney Houston Takes A Snack Break
Oh, magazines would never Photoshop celebrities to make it look like they were doing something inappropriate or unhealthy, would they? Because that would be irresponsible! No, surely if this magazine says that Whitney grew a third hand with which to SNACK HARDER AND FASTER, they must be telling the truth. Stranger things have happened. I heard that one time, a shark ate a model's leg right before a Sports Illustrated photoshoot and she went ahead and POSED ANYWAY.
