We officially declared Madonna the Queen of the Slow Burn earlier this year, after her gloriously bitchy and passive aggressive 20/20 interview about Lady Gaga, and girlfriend is OWNING that title. Yay!

During rehearsals for an upcoming concert in Israel, Madonna launched into Gaga’s Born This Way…but not before singing a little bit of Express Yourself. Reductive? LOOK IT UP.

Damn girl, I haven’t seen a performance that deep-fried in snarky irony since that time I lip-synched to Miley Cyrus’ Party In The USA and made all the Mamapop writers serve as my background dancers. Because…you know…that song is terrible. Which is why I already had it on my iPod. And maybe had some of the dance moves planned out in advance. Whatever. You don’t know my life.

I’d award the point for this round to Madonna and lob the ball back into Gaga’s court, but I’m guessing she might be a little too busy to really care right now, as she’s dealing with her concert in Indonesia being canceled. The show was completely sold out and now 52,000 tickets are being refunded because some unhinged protesters think she’s a threat to the nation’s morals and a messenger of the devil because sex boobs Catholicism sexy Judas sex butts blah.

Just like old times, eh Madge?

    While I don’t really care about either one of them, at least Lady Gaga can actually sing, something Madonna never really quite managed.

    I have a confession to make: Until fairly recently (as in, this year) I had never *specifically* heard Madonna’s music. I’m sure I’ve heard it tons on the radio, but anything on the radio just blends in with whatever else is playing. She was just this pop culture fixture that kind of never went away. She would have a new album and I’d hear 30 seconds of it on some promo on the news or whatnot and not think about it.

    so when I was looking for some dance music recently I found a few of her albums on itunes.. figured it’d be an easy win.

    I hate them all. :o

    i love madonna’s music, but with her past history of attire and behavior, i don’t see how she should ever have the balls to critique anyone’s behaviour.  she would be better off directing all of her attention to her daughter, Lourdes.  God help that little girl if she follows her mom’s example.
