We know you, dear MamaPop readers, have lives. Places to go, things to do, jobs to keep and what-not. Which is why we now offer you a look back on the week that was on MamaPop by way of our most popular posts of the past seven days. Please to enjoy.
What To Expect When You’re Expecting Your Mom To Direct Your Sex Tape
Kris Humphries alleges that famed mom-ager Kris Jenner “directed” daughter Kim Kardashian to do the infamous sex tape that launched her career as…um, as…as a person who made a sex tape and now earns more than 40,000 elementary school teachers combined.
Faking It – Movies Everyone Has Seen But You
Last night, “Simba,” “Mustafa,” and “The Lion King” were trending on Twitter in the United States. I couldn’t figure out why. Was there one of those 3D re-releases of the movie that are so popular these days? Maybe it was finally decided by some high court that The Lion King completely rips off the 1960s’ Kimba The White Lion, my personal most favorite kids cartoon in the whole entire world. Or maybe it was some pissed-off cell animation artist at Disney trying to knock Brave off the trend throne.
Ranking Pixar Movies In The Order In Which They Make A Grown Man Cry
Disney/Pixar’s Brave just won the box office crown this past weekend, with a $66.3 million take. This, of course, isn’t surprising. Pixar has been churning out, arguably, the best animated films of the past 25 years from 1995′s Toy Story to this year’s Brave. As a parent, every Pixar movie is an EVENT, because, when those theater lights go down, you know that you’re about to enjoy a film from a group of skilled storytellers that both you and the kiddos will love.
On Nora Ephron: What I Hope My Daughter Learns From The Unsung Rebel
At some point romantic comedies lost their feminist cred. None of us have enough time to truly analyze whether or not that loss of credibility is legit, but it suffices to say that, when you think rom-com, you don’t think feminist rebellion. Unless you’re talking about Nora Ephron.
Maybe ‘The Bachelorette’ Should Always Be a Mom
The first thing you should know about me (before less important things like where I live or that a toddler is currently screaming in the next room) is that I love The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. I might have even watched both seasons of Bachelor Pad, but I’m not fully admitting to anything. It doesn’t matter how godawful the man/woman of the hour is, they all win me over with time. Even Jake, whom I thought was a total psycho on Jillian’s season, won me over as the most earnestly genuine person on earth, once he became The Bachelor.
