Okay, so yes, firstly: John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John made a Christmas album. You know this because I put that as the title of the post because this is a blog and that’s just how we do things.
But what’s more important is that the cover of said Christmas album looks like this:
WHAT IN THE FREAKING HELL. Are they trying to ruin everything? Do they not have any friends? Agents? Managers? Anyone to show this to who might say, “Hey. You guys. This is kinda embarrassing. It looks less like ‘oh here’s a totally believable photo of our holiday get-together’ and more like you just wandered into a display at Michael’s, grabbed some dainty teacups and then Photoshopped some hot-chocolate-latte-foam in John’s cup and really, you guys. It’s weird.”
“Also. John. Your hair. It looks like a failed Chia Pet filled in with a Sharpie. LOVE YOU THOUGH.”
Other pertinent details about this album that I will probably be buying for everybody I know, just so I can see their faces while they try to process that cover and the fact this exists:
- Guess stars include Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, James Taylor, Chick Corea, and Kenny G. Snerk.
- In addition to traditional holiday songs, the album will also include a song called I Think You Might Like It. It’s a sequel to You’re the One That I Want from Grease. So even songs are getting sequels now? Meh. I’ll hold out for the prequel.
- Snark-killer alert: Travolta and Newton-John are donating their proceeds to charities. Well, their own charities: “the Jett Travolta Foundation, to combat children’s disabilities, including autism and seizures, and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne, Australia.”
