Yeah, it was even closed captioned. WHAT DIDN’T THIS GUY THINK OF?

A question for the men out there: ever hear of a guy named Tom Fletcher? Chances are you haven’t, being a bloke from the states and all. But you should probably get familiar with him, because he’s making you menfolk look bad, dear sir.

Fletcher, who sings in the UK pop band McFly (yes, named after the Marty McFly from Back to the Future…which came out the same year this dude was born, it happens) was married in December and chose to sing his speech rather than speak it, like the rest of you boring, predictable guys. And like, 1.4 million people have watched it. Or 20,000 women have watched it 70 times a piece, which honestly makes more sense.

::SNIFF:: What? I’m not crying…I’m just…allergic to…SCREW IT THIS WAS SWEET AND I AM CRYING.

And yeah, 14 MINUTES. I know, it’s long. But really, if you need a good cry – it’s well worth it. (If you want to skip to the part where he sings to his bride, you can start the video here and jump headlong into the mushy shit STAT.)

Here’s my speech from our wedding 12-5-12. It’s possibly the most nervous I’ve ever been in my life (about the speech, not the wedding!).

I got a load of ideas by watching other speeches on youtube so if there are any future grooms on here in desperate need of inspiration (like I was) then I hope this helps. I’m useless at public speaking so this was my solution!

So men, if you need some inspiration (or want to go viral), DO THIS. Put on an adorable British accent, attempt a poor-man’s Flock Of Seagulls hair-do, and sing (occasionally backed up by a children’s choir) your wedding speech! Seems easy enough.
