Beyoncé Answers The Haters By Throwing Down At The Super Bowl, Announcing World Tour

Beyonce Super Bowl halftime show 2013 590x344 Beyoncé Answers The Haters By Throwing Down At The Super Bowl, Announcing World Tour
So in case you were one of the, like, FIVE whole people on the planet who didn’t catch Beyoncé‘s performance last night during the Super Bowl Halftime show, you missed quite the fiery, inspired spectacle. In what could be best described as the song-and-dance equivalent of a z-snap, Beyoncé – cradled between two glowing, Rubin-vase-like female profiles suggestive of her I CONTAIN MULTITUDES-esque womanly power (or something) – strutted, shook her boo-tay, and, lest it for even one second ever be doubted, SANG HER FREAKING ASS OFF LIVE, SUCKAS.

There was also a brief Destiny’s Child reunion medley (like you didn’t see that one coming) with Kelly Rowland and… the other one (Michelle Williams). All told, it was textbook-level definitive FIERCE:

As if all of that weren’t enough for one night, B wisely took advantage of the evening’s spotlight to announce an upcoming world tour.

The tour name? The Mrs. Carter Show.

Tour dates yonder. And after last night’s performance it’s fair to say there’s little doubt Mrs. Carter knows how to put on one helluva live show.

I’m one of those five people. :p

I saw the first minute or so, then my husband yelled downstairs that our daughter needed to be fed before bed. But the minute that I saw was pretty fricking awesome.

Heh! Well, happy to be of service, madam! ;)

  • Tyskkvinna

We did not watch but I had a blast watching the whole thing unfold on social media.

  • Jae

Loved it! And can I say her makeup held up phenomenally? (I have Standards, you see…)

She looked FANTASTIC. Glowing, Strong Woman FANTASTIC.

  • April Lollar

She was amazing. For those five minutes all I wanted in the world was to pop up from a stage looking that fierce with a fabric and light replica of my fabulous hair blowing in the breeze while people danced in it. Then I found gold fish my two year old spit into my hair while I was giving him a shoulder ride and thought, maybe not. Maybe there should not be a replica of my hair. There seemed to be a lot of folks on my Facebook feed clutching their pearls and Oh, mah Lawding over her lack of clothes. Um … did they think she was going to wear a turtleneck and mom jeans? She rocked it.

TOTALLY. And oh my god, her hair. And the FLIPPING. Extensions or real, I R JUS JELUS.

      • April Lollar

Extensions, I believe. And you just know there are people selling strands of that weave on eBay after she was flipping it over the crowd. Or attempting to clone her if it wasn’t a weave. I guess the world will have to wait and see.

Kelly Rowland looked fantastic. Bey did sing live, but she only sang half of each song, allowing backing tracks to fill in the choruses particularly on Crazy in Love. To her credit, she never mimed those parts and even moved the mic away from her mouth. But strutting and hair flipping is NOT great singing. She had great energy, but she modulated the vocals. Even during Halo she sang in bursts and completely avoided transitions.
