Britney Spears Is Coming Undone

This is getting really sad.
Here are shots of Britney from last night in front of Kevin Federline's house after he refused to let her see her sons. Shortly after these were taken, her mom arrived to take her back to the treatment facility.
Also? I so hope that is one of the paparazzi's cars.

Ugh. Ugh.
That's it. I'm done. She's a trainwreck, but I am LOOKING AWAY.

Wow. That's one scary face. I'm hiding under my bed until all this is over.

Holy crappity crap, she looks like some sort of evil Star Trek character. Her head is REALLY shaved too, damn.

So sad. Her Dad said to MTV news that his little girl is very sick, and that it is not what we all think...? Anyway... I just hopes she gets better. Less crazy.

I'm beginning to think she took a page or two out of Anne Heche's crazy book. Remember that episode? And now she has a successful (??) show. How easily people forget - take heart, Brit. You can turn this thing around if you act fast.

I agree. It is sad. And, what makes it worse, it's getting sadder all the time.

Dude, seriously. What the FUCK is wrong with her?!?!

I'm awarding bonus points for going batshit-crazy while wearing pearls.
Posted by: jen | February 22, 2007 at 07:04 PM
I...I just can't make any jokes here. After the whole ANS thing, this is looking bad, turning to worse. Those poor kids.
Posted by: missbanshee | February 22, 2007 at 07:23 PM
Dude! That's just... bad.
Posted by: Min-Tea | February 22, 2007 at 08:18 PM
I know that K-Fed wants the kids so he can get child support, but I'm really starting to think that they are better off with him. I can not believe I just wrote that. But I have to say I agree with Jen... if you are going to go crazy, at least wear pearls while you do it. .. it makes it a little more classy.

?!
No Grey's open thread tonight? I'm stuck at work and was hoping to find out what was going on by sneaking a peak at the open thread.
*sigh*

slyeyes, I am with ya! Where are my Grey's Girls?
As for Britney--it is really, really sad. I don't know how she comes back from this. And also? the photographers that are following her every move are bottom dwellers.

Under normal circumstances I don't care much for Brit but this just gets worse with each passing day. At first it was funny but lately I can't help but feel bad for her.

Sad, sad, sad.

Speculation is rampant that it is some pretty bad post-partum depression mixed with a liberal amount of drugs. That would explain a lot, but not how her familiy and handlers let things get SO out of control. I was at Tarzhay last night and EVERY magazine had her on the cover in some stage of shaving her head or totally bald.
I prefer my nervous breakdowns private, myself.

Has anyone read what Dooce had to say yesterday? An interesting take on it and very likely.

Poor Britney.
But seriously. How much do her legs ROCK? I hope I can still pull off ass shorts after popping out two kids. While having a nervous breakdown.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but it seems hypocritical to claim sympathy for this woman and slam the paparazzi, while publishing their shots on your site, where they can be grabbed and used who knows where. It really perpetuates what they're trying to accomplish. I have a terrible celebrity gossip habit myself, but when it's related to such obvious human suffering, a line has to be drawn. Were I in this situation, famous or not, I would hope other women would have the compassion not to publish shots of me in my darkest hours on a site intended (at least in part) for other mothers. Heather's post on the matter was very good, I agree.
Sorry...I'm deviating from my typical lurking AND non-judgmental stance, but I can't stand the complete media immersion in someone else's unfolding misfortune anymore. And call ME crazy, but I'll take a fat ass over complete emotional meltdown any day.

yeah i think its been said many times before (here and elsewhere) that this is likely PPD. let's hope she's getting the help she needs.
Posted by: Tracey | February 23, 2007 at 11:25 AM
I think there is more to this than a "complete media immersion" or feeding people's appetite for celebrity gossip. A lot of people, especially women and moms, are genuinely concerned about Britney (and her kids, OMG her poor kids), and they're interested in talking about how this is all going to play out.

Personally, I'm far more media-immersed in the Anna Nicole Smith stuff...
Britney will get some meds and some therapy and she'll come out of all this smelling like a rose (although Tom Cruise might chastise her a bit and suggest vitamins and couch jumping instead of antidepressants)
And that's not me being snarky. I really believe that she'll be okay.
I also predict.... Are you ready for this? A reconciliation with K-Fed. You read it here first, people!
Posted by: Izzy | February 23, 2007 at 12:37 PM
Interesting perspective, Amy...although I don't hear much concern in or between the lines of most stuff I read. I just found the photos to be sad and that inspired my comment.
Posted by: Laurie | February 23, 2007 at 09:31 PM
Precisely why, if you noticed, the jokes stopped. And I said it is sad. Which it is. And I'm with you Izzy! She's not off the K-Fed. You heard it here second!
Posted by: Lena | February 24, 2007 at 01:01 AM
You think K-Fed would have her back? I realize she's the one who left him, but I don't think he ever really loved her, so standing by her in this time of need seems out of character for him and the nature of their relationship, as far as I can tell. Of course, one never knows what goes on behind closed doors, as they say...
