Mel B Is Not Happy

Former Spice Girl Melanie B is allegedly "distraught" that she "had to subject" her 10-day-old daughter, Fortuna Daphne Bay, to DNA testing in order to prove that Eddie Murphy is the baby's father.

"She can't believe that it's come to this and that Eddie hasn't just admitted that the child is his. This last week should have been an incredible time for Mel, but it's been emotionally overwhelming and she's been constantly in tears. The DNA test was the last straw and she's gearing up to fight back. She feels wronged..."

Melanie apparently became pregnant immediately after she started dating Eddie and has vehemently insisted that he is the father to her daughter since the announcement of her pregnancy, including his name on the birth certificate and now legally demanding his DNA sample.

Angered that Eddie "hasn't even sent a card or bunch of flowers" since the baby's birth, Mel has made up her mind that "she doesn't want him to have anything to do with her".

Reportedly, an upcoming magazine photo spread will "prove to the world" that Eddie is the father because he and the baby girl "have the same eyes".

Mel started dating Eddie after they met a party, their whirlwind romance ending in December after he denied being the father to the baby with which she was five months pregnant.

Eddie, who has five kids with his ex-wife of four months, Nicole Mitchell, is now said to be engaged to music producer Tracey Edmonds.

You know what? After this story, I have a whole new understanding for the crazed mamas on Maury Povich who, in a fit of righteous indignation when the DNA results are read, pick up their chair and throw it at the dead-beat daddy's head. The obvious lesson: DON'T DISRESPECT THE STRETCHMARKS!

Eddie said from the beginning that he wanted a DNA test, so it shouldn't have come as any surprise to Mel. I don't know the reason their relationship soured. It could've been that the quick pregnancy scared him off, that he felt he didn't know or trust her well enough to believe it, or that he just wanted to dump her for a hotter chick (Tracy). Mel is so adamant, I believe her that she knows for sure that Fortuna is Eddie's, but I hope she doesn't get spiteful because of his hurtful reactions and not let the little girl have a relationship with her Dad. I believe Eddie will step up when he is sure she is his daughter and want to support her and be a part of her life. The child deserves it. This reminds me of Liz Hurley's experience with Bing when she had Damian.

he could have waited awhile after the baby was born to see if it was his. I mean the baby isnt even a month old and he wants to have a DNA test. Anna Nicole's daughter didnt have a DNA test until she was around 5 months old. He is being a real jerk about this.. he could wait awhile until the baby is older.

Um. What if the kid isn't his? I'm not sure I see what's so wrong about requesting a DNA test right away. What, he should support a kid he doesn't think is his for several months just so he doesn't offend anyone?

If it's his, he'll be legally obligated to help take care of it and if it's not, at least he won't be playing the dupe.

It obviously wasn't a huge love match, so why is she so upset over him wanting to just be sure it's his?

I could see the big upset if they'd been married or even in a solid committed relationship when she conceived, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Really, either one of them could have taken some preventative measures here. But now that the deed is done, I would want a DNA test if there was any doubt. Can't totally blame Eddie here............
