What Would Starbuck Do?
Even though I'm a level-headed, educated adult with a clear understanding of the difference between reality and fiction, there are times that this all goes out the window, and I assume that a certain actor really is the character he or she plays. Case in point: Katee Sackhoff as Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica. To me, Katee Sackhoff is Starbuck.
So I was more than a bit surprised when I read that Sackhoff is starring in a Lifetime movie. Surely, Starbuck would never even consider a script like this:
The two-hour movie, from Blueprint Entertainment, is set in a small town in the 1990s. Sackhoff will star as Sara Jacob, a teenager who has had a crush on one of her classmates since preschool. But when an eclipse lands the unsuspecting teens at their wedding almost 20 years in the future, neither of them is prepared for what adulthood has in store.
I just can't imagine Sackhoff in this role unless small town gal Sara Jacob is also a hard-drinking, foul-mouthed pilot (which would make the best Lifetime movie ever). I'll have to see it to believe it. So I'll set my Tivo for Lifetime on July 16.
