Drew Carey Is The New Host Of "The Price Is Right"!

I have one question: how is Drew Carey going to end the show? Will he talk of spaying cats and dogs? I'm very sad folks, because it's truly official. Next time you turn on your TV it'll be Drew staring back at you, not the aging Bob Barker.

Oh Bob, how could you leave me?!

Drew on "filling" Bob Barker's shoes:

"I realize what a big responsibility this is," he said. "It's only a game show, but it's the longest-running game show in American television and I plan to keep it that way."

Drew Carey talks of when he first found out:

My agent called me and said `I was talking to CBS casting today' and in my head I was thinking, `Oh, `CSI' guest star?' And he said what would you think about replacing Bob Barker on `The Price is Right?

So what do you guys think -- is Drew the best replacement for Bob? I have to vote YES.

I think Drew is the best replacement, of all the names that floated around out there. Like I need another reason to watch CBS though. I already have an unhealthy obsession of Craig Ferguson.

When I saw the headline yesterday, I was totally thrilled for Drew. And yes, I think he'll be great!! Just different enough so that people won't be trying to make him into Bob, but still an all-around good guy who will want to keep TPIR a great, entertaining show.

As long as he doesn't talk too much, I think he'll be great. Bob was friendly but never went into personal stories (not that I remember, anyway) and that made him a great host.

I do love Drew Carey, though. The Man will be pleased as well...he thought he was going to stick with the other game show.

Yay! Although I weep for Bob Barker daily, I can totally get behind Drew hosting. Rosie O'Donnell would have been completely intolerable for me, which would have been tough considering Price is Right is my FAVORITE show. Seriously. If I could only have one show, that would be it.

O'Hurley would have been too much to handle - he can't seem to be near a camera for long without mugging, arcing his eyebrows etc. Drew's not so kissable, but he's fun and unoffensive and SO genuine. I'm psyched! When do they start airing Drew episodes? Oh, and Rosie? No way.

Drew is the perfect choice. I was behind O'Hurley all the way until I heard Drew was up for it. He's funny and self-deprecating and a good guy. He'll do such a great job.
