It's Always Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!
Is there a single former child star from the seventies and eighties that actually escaped unscathed? I'm just asking because Maureen McCormick, best known for her portrayal of golden girl Marcia Brady on the Brady Bunch (as well as her numerous guest star roles on that critically acclaimed 1970's TV gem "The Love Boat") has signed a book deal to author her tell-all story of the dark side of being a young TV megastar. Shocking!
According to the NY Post, she will cover her exploitation in Hollywood
as a child actor, her lifelong battle with eating disorders and
depression and her near fatal bouts with drug addiction.
Says the
executive editor of publisher Harper Entertainment, "Few knew of the
incredibly horrific secrets she kept and
deeply traumatic experiences she endured."
Sorry Maureen...Danny Bonaduce already beat you to the punch and he's a pretty tough act to follow, babe.
I do, however, hope she sells some books so she doesn't have to resort to knocking over video stores like the late, great Dana Plato of Diff'rent Strokes who ultimately died of a drug overdose in an RV.
