Get the Hell Out of Here, James Lipton
You know James Lipton, right? He's the dean emeritus of the Actors Studio Drama School and the host of the of the long-running series Inside the Actors Studio on Bravo. If you've never seen the show, Lipton interviews actors and has the tendency to ask these questions that are supposed to be deep and thought-provoking but always kind of sounded like they wouldn't be out of place in, say, Tiger Beat. Some of his favorites are, "What's your favorite word?" or "What's your favorite sound?" I remember watching it one time when Juliette Binoche was being interviewed and Lipton asked her the favorite sound question. She got all dreamy-looking and wistfully said something about babies murmuring through lilac or something and James Lipton was all, "Oh, sigh!" In other words, it's kind of a wank-fest.
However, James Lipton is also quite a cutup...
His interviews with people like Dave Chappelle have always been hilarious. He was also once interviewed by Ali G and rapped during the credits and, well, my pants weren't very dry after that.
But apparently he was on Conan O'Brien the other night, which I never get to see anymore because I'm going to be 29 next week and at some point in the last month my eyes stopped staying open past 11 p.m. Anyway, Lipton was talking to Conan about his autobiography and get this: James Lipton worked for a time as pimp when he lived in Paris. A PIMP. JAMES LIPTON WAS A PIMP.
Somehow...I'm not entirely shocked.

His Wikipedia page reads like a fucking Mad Lib! But I'm somehow inclined to believe it. Oddly, I can personally confirm that he authored "An Exaltation of Larks," because I somehow own a copy...
