Angelina Draws The Line: PG13 and NO NIGHTGOWNS
Angelina Jolie has been telling the media that she won't let her children see her movie Beowulf "until they're older:"
"I think it's too much. I don't think they should see their mom that way. Like, I don't wear nightgowns like that in the house. I've got boys in my house. You don't do that as a mom."
I'm not even going to touch the nightgown comment (who wears nightgowns? who?) I'm more interested in this question of which of Mommy's movies are acceptable for viewing by the Jolie-Pitt children. Gia? Original Sin? Alexander? Mr. & Mrs. Smith? ("This is the movie where I met your father, sweeties, and stole him away from some other lady. Some lady who wore slutty nightgowns.")
She did do Shark's Tale, which was all, you know, animated and family-friendly and all, but isn't she even kinda tarty in that movie, too? All big lips and keep-your-husbands-away-from-me-ish?
I suppose that we can always hold out hope for Atlas Shrugged. I hear that there are no nightgowns in that one.

I approve of Angelina's comments, fwiw! I firmly believe that once children are involved (i.e., you become a mom) your past/present as a woman ceases to exist in your mom-context. Your (my) kids need not know anything about mom as a sexual being. Not until a long time from now, if ever. So what if that means Angelina & Brad won't do family movie night with their movies (individual and collective) for a long time?

Though I do wonder what Angelina's thoughts are (Now) on her Lara Croft styling/wardrobe?

Heh, I'm keeping Atlas Shrugged out of my DVD player, too. I find Ayn Rand inappropriate for children of any age. ;)

I can't stand her and everytime she and Brad open their mouths, it proves how shallow and stupid they really are.

Ugh! Please stop saying that she "stole" Brad away from Jen. It takes TWO people for that to happen, yet everyone seems to focus their anger on the "other woman."
And I don't really see how choosing not to wear a nightgown because she has young boys has anything to show how "shallow and stupid" she may be. As Michelle said, when you have young children around, you're not going to be parading around in a slinky nightgown all the time.

Actually, Angelina didn't like her Lara Croft wardrobe even when the film was done. They required she wear prosthetic boobs, to look more like the video game. (I have to take this info based solely on the interviews at that time, as I have never actually seen said video game. Atari, anyone???)
I'm in agreement with Michelle and The Muse. :)
