Golden Globes are go!
Ready those open-thread fingers! The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced its nominees for the 2007 Golden Globe awards, which will air January 13 on NBC.
The complete list of noms is here; picks, highlights, and miscellany
after the jump.
Check it:
- The fabulous but probably sandwich-needing Cate Blanchett is up for two categories: Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama (for Elizabeth: The Golden Age) and Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture (for Todd Haynes's Dylan biopic I'm Not There). The woman has range.
- If he wins Best Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy for 30 Rock, perhaps Alec Baldwin will further opine about how the WGA can combat "every no-talent, idiotic, amoral producer and executive we have ever dealt with"--by blogging!
- She probably hasn't got a snowball's chance, but I adore the brilliantly trashy Jaime Pressly on My Name Is Earl.
- Steven Spielberg gets the Cecil B. DeMille award. Zzzzzzz....
- Of course I love La Blonsky, but Marion Cotillard deserves the win for La Vie En Rose.
You have seen La Vie En Rose, oui? - Coen Brothers! Coen Brothers! Coen Brothers!
