Ladies and gentlemen, just when you think there can't possibly be any more great photos fit into the year (it being the last few hours of 2007 and all), but no. I have scoured the internet (and/or my google reader feed!) and can now bring you these amazing gems.

 

Vince Vaughn is so clearly making me sad with this picture. Dude used to be so hot, and can still pull it together marvelously when he tries (or when he's got a girlfriend to impress). But this? This is UNACCEPTABLE Vince.

2007's Worst of...

It's New Year's Eve and that means three things: champagne, resolutions, and best-of lists. Well, it also means kissing. And lamenting one's lack of a kissing partner. And hangovers yet to come. And those 30 pounds you won't lose (again). And wondering what kind of nitwits actually go to Times Square. And balls dropping (that sounded really bad). So, nine things. Whatever.

Anyway, there are tons of best-of lists but for the more surly members of society (hi!), there are worst-of lists. buffalobeast.com has come through with a worst-of list that makes a misanthrope like me just squeal with delight: The 50 Most Loathsome People in America, 2007.

I know. I immediately thought of every iPod commercial ever made. But according to Advertising Age, Apple is only being held accountable for creating one ad where the song gets stuck in your head forever. I'm sure you can guess which one was chosen.

Think: dancing hipster girl in what appears to be a monotard in a gymnasium surrounded by other dancing hipsters. I'll give you 1, 2, 3, 4 guesses.

Little Girl Has to Give Back Concert Tix Because Mom Is Total Idiot

In a late entry to the worst mom of 2007 contest (look out, Lynne!), spectacular jackass Patricia Ceballos helped her six-year-old daughter write a false story about her father's death in Iraq in order to win Hannah Montana tickets.  Are they going to the show?  More after the jump.

Nicole Kidman: Preggers Or Not?

So, the rumor is barely out of the mill and it's already being denied: Nicole Kidman says that she is not pregnant.

Which, you know: whatever. Denying a pregnancy is, among celebrities, as standard a practice as peeing on a stick. Nobody comes right out and immediately announces a pregnancy; it's like a desperate cry for help, or publicity. Much too obvious. Better to string everybody along with denials and 'no comments' and play the whole thing out for what it's worth: months and months of feverish speculation.

Michelle Rodriguez Spends Christmas in Jail

People is reporting that Michelle Rodriguez, formerly of the most DUI ridden cast "Lost", reported to jail Sunday December 23 in Lynwood, Calif. to begin serving her six-month sentence for violating probation in a DUI case. 

According to the L.A. County Sheriff's Web site she was booked at 4:33 p.m. in the same facility where Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, and Lindsay Lohan did their time.

Okay, I'm lazy. I'll admit it. Rather than scouring the internet for the best links of the week, I'm giving you this. This one photo. Because I'm so ready for it to be the weekend I want to crawl under my desk and take a nap, while the nuances of internet surfing instead of doing my actual job have escaped me somehow. I don't want to talk about it.

And it's not even a new photo! But it is a photo attached to the truth. These two really are dating! Slutty Milo was overheard calling Hayden not only his girlfriend, but his love! Aw!

For Your Consideration

A little bird sent me a package for Christmas. Inside were several movie screeners it had received for awards consideration.

Um, isn't that like stealing intellectual property?

Yeah, maybe. But they remain the property of the studios, and I will give them back if asked to do so. Let's see if they ask. In one of the various places I have worked as a critic, we tried to give the screeners back once, and the intern on the other end of the phone in Los Angeles was not interested in our offer. I have a closet full of screeners in my house. At least I don't try to sell them to Half-Price Books.

If it makes it square, maybe I'll grant a MamaPop award to the best film in the box. Sometime when I finish watching these movies, mid-2009.

Catch Up On LOST In 8 minutes 15 Seconds

As a follow-up to yesterday's post: ABC has posted a ridiculously concise -- and totally hilarious -- video summary of the entirety of the LOST series, from plane crash to last year's finale. Even if you've been a LOST devotee from day one it's worth viewing for the clip's snarktastic explanatory narration: "They see Jack play football with Mr. Friendly. Mr. Friendly throws like a girl." snort.

Hollywood Producer Can't Keep It In His Pants, What Else Is New

In the United States we're supposed to consider you innocent until proven guilty, so let's all try to stay in a higher frame of mind while reading the bizarre accusations being hurled at Napoleonic Hollywood producer Jon Peters.

According to Thursday's Los Angeles Times, three former employees of the powerful former hairdresser have filed suit against him. One complaint alleges that Peters "systematically sexually harassed" employee Bianca Hernandez at his Malibu Colony home, once trying to push her into bed while he was naked, and another time trying to fondle her breasts, which he charmingly referred to as "pillows." Irresistible, the bare-assed advances of a 62-year-old Flashdance-producing troll who used to perm Barbra Streisand's hair. Dontcha think?

But the second suit, that one takes the cake. More loathsome behavior we're not being judgmental at all about after the jump!

Aaaassss Yoooooou Wiiiisssh: Sean & Robin Wright Penn Divorcing

(I know that quote has absolutely nothing to do with this story and quite honestly doesn't make a lick of sense, but it was either that or "Why don't you love me, Jenn-ay? I'd make a good hus-band." and that was way too long to fit in the title box.)

Anyway. Yes, it's true. A rep for Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn confirmed yesterday that the longtime couple have filed for divorce. They've been together since the early 90's, married for 11 years and have starred in several films together, including one set to be released next year called What Just Happened?

They have two children together: Hopper Jack, 14, and Dylan Frances, 16. No other details on the split are available, but here's hoping it's NOT an ugly one, a la Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards. Or Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger. Or Brit and K-Fed. Or the Hoff and...uh, Mrs. The Hoff.

That's right, we're taking a look back at some of the hottest of the hotties featured in FEC editions this year. I don't look at it as "phoning in", but as a way to remind you what we all loved this year, and a way to kick start 2008 in style. Mischa Barton arrested for DUI and Possession

Will it ever end?  Just when I think we can not have another star arrested for DUI, someone is.  People is reporting that Mischa Barton, formerly of OC fame, was arrested in West Hollywood early yesterday morning.

She was pulled over at 2:46 a.m. after her vehicle was seen straddling two lanes of traffic and she failed to signal when making a turn, according to an L.A. County Sheriff Department statement released Thursday. She was arrested for DUI and driving without a valid license.

Every so often, I check in on Blender's Awesome List of Lists, because Angela:lists::betches:Tina Fey, and so today I was reading The 50 Craziest Pop Stars Ever!, and came upon Courtney Love's entry.  And it occurred to me that I haven't heard a word about anything Courtney-related lately, so I GoogleNews-ed her, and for the love of all things good and right, y'all, when is she going to STOP DOING THINGS TO HER FACE?

Idolator's Worst Album Cover of the Year Tournament

For weeks I've been following (with bated breath and stinging eyeballs) Idolator's Worst Album Cover of the Year tournament. Lo, that shit is ugly. And stupid. And very, very WTF.

Even if you've missed the early brackets, today you still have time to make history (just...go with it, ok?) and vote in the final round and help definitively select the worst of what was a pretty good year for fugly album covers.
