Eminem Rushed to Hospital
You may recall that back in August I remarked in a post here at MamaPop that Eminem was looking a little hefty. Well, apparently my eyes weren't deceiving me...
According to TMZ, the 35 year old rapper was hospitalized in Detroit over the holidays for an unspecified but serious heart condition, as well as a bout of pneumonia.
However, TMZ also reports that the formerly svelte Slim Shady now weighs in at a whopping 212 lbs. Yowza!
Not knowing the specifics, it's hard to say if all that weight has contributed to his heart problems but in 2006, he did tell Complex magazine that he'd been hittin' the nachos and Mountain Dew.
My advice to Eminem? Buck up and start working out again before the Elvis jokes start.

He looks so weirdly... puffy, to me. Like he has some kind of edema situation going on or something.

Angela, I totally agree. This doesn't look like regular weight gain to me. In fact, if that isn't severe alcohol bloat, I don't know what is. He doesn't even look overweight, in a weird way. Just...swollen. Edema is an excellent hypothesis. Hope he gets help.

I weigh about 50 lbs. more than the apparently-moments-away-from-death-omg-snark-worthy Mathers.

Z, Just to clarify, it's not meant to be a commentary on anyone's weight. Eminem's weight gain is significant and clearly acquired in a relatively short period of time. That combined with some sort of a heart problem? Not good. He really does need to get back in shape, if not for himself then for his daughter.

I read on the gossip Rocks Forums that he was hospitalized with pnuemonia....and had heart complications. They use steroids to treat this, which explains the weight gain. Poor Em!

eminem may be fat but he is still eminem and he will be slim again and it doesnt matter if he doesnt get slim he will still be eminem and i love you eminem!!

i think that he is still as fit as f**k and a fantastic father aswell, i wouldn't mind popping out a few of his babies, maybe give him a little boy, seems a shame to stop at 1.
