Now, I don't mean to alienate our New England readers, but I can't stand the Patriots. And, yes, it's mostly because I bleed black and gold*. Amazingly enough, there are people who hate the Patriots more than I do, so much so that they created a blog dedicated to hating on the Pats: I Hate the New England Patriots.
TMZ is reporting that the Spearses have, at least for now, won the fight over who will make Britney's medical decisions. Britney had initially only allowed the perpetually oogie Sam Lutfi to make them, but doctors are now cooperating with her parents. A judge still has to sign an order making this official; I wonder if Lutfi will fight it. Follow the jump for even more updates.
I'm as guilty as the next gossipwhore person of gleefully sharing the many and varied sordid details of celebrity lives. But some gossipwhorage still has the power to offend me - and this story is a case in point: Entertainment Tonight and The Insider have possession of, and are preparing to release, an "explosive" video that
purports to show Heath Ledger at a wild, drug-fueled party, talking
about his drug use. The really twisted part? They're bullying other entertainment/gossip sites - to keep them from using the video themselves in any way - by threatening, in advance, legal action if anyone tries to horn in on their profiting from this video.

The NYPD has denied any plans to question Mary Kate Olsen in connection with phone calls the actress received from the masseuse who discovered Heath Ledger's body last week.
"Absolutely at no time are we going to be interviewing her," New York police Det. Joseph Cavitolo tells PEOPLE. "We never had any plans to interview her. At this point we are just waiting for the Medical Examiner's report."
Early Thursday morning, with an escort of more than a dozen cops, Britney was once again taken from her home by an ambulance.

Hair. Drama. Treatment rumors, interventions, parents, hissy fits, meltdowns, text messages and another freaking new car. Sigh.
And since her mom is in town, that means it's time for Britney to go back to the Kabbalah-flavored brand of rebellion of years past, hence the book in her hand.
And that is all I have to say about Britney today, aka the Daily Soap Opera That Like, Really Went Too Far With the Seventh Amnesia-Stolen-Baby-Evil-Nun-Twin Storyline This Year and I Keep Promising To Stop Watching and I Can't.

Apparently pictures of Miley Cyrus in her underwear have surfaced on the Internet. The star known to most as Hannah Montana is said to have stripped down to her (Hello Kitty?) underwear. She's apparently shown lifting her shirt as well.
The photographs have many people already comparing her to Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, which is a little unfair. Ms. Spears and Ms. Lohan worked really hard to get to where they are today. Ms. Cyrus has a ways to go before she reaches that level of WTF.
Christian Brando, son of Marlon Brando, died last week at the age of 49. It was reported that he died of pneumonia; however, his ex and his mom have insisted on an autopsy to rule out what they believe is foul play.
The ex, Deborah Presley, is suing the executors of Christian's will, charging negligence and fraud. Apparently he meant to leave his money to her, and the will they're operating from was forged.
Not that I really think that Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise actually have sex (*shudder*), but I'm as keen as the next gossip-whore to believe that she might be pregnant again. By Scientology-approved artificial insemination, probably, but still: pregnant is pregnant, and that's good gossip.
So, is she pregnant again?

CNN.com has an interesting story about ABC's new show "Eli Stone." In the first episode, the title character argues that a flu vaccine made a child autistic. This caused some backlash and pediatricians blasted ABC for airing a show about that assumption, since the existence of a link between vaccines and autism is waaaaaayyyyy up in the air at the moment.

Twelve dozen amateur bump-watchers tripped over their Baby Boden catalogs Monday in the mad rush to speculate non-factually about whether or not Angelina Jolie's flowy SAG Awards dress hid not just singular but TWIN fetal Jolie-Pitts. Regard:
Christopher Plummer, one of Heath Ledger's co-stars in the movie The Wonder Imaginarium Emporium of Doctor Parnassus Magorium, has told People that director Terry Gilliam "throwing himself into the job of trying to salvage the picture."
And he told People this totally adorably.
"Fortunately, because the film deals with magic, there is a way, perhaps, of turning Heath into other people and then, using stills and I think they call it CGI."
Christopher Plummer has since thrown himself into the job of figuring out what those mysterious letters stand for. Somebody get on that goggle dot com!
As for Heath's last days on the set, Plummer says "Heath was in very high spirits. He was just enjoying himself tremendously. It's a rather fanciful script, and he was wonderful in this role."
But he also confirms reports about Heath's health and sleep problems...
The March issue of Blender magazine will be featuring Britney on the cover and although I have no idea when the photo was taken, she looks a hell of a lot better than she has in quite some time. I suspect we have Photoshop to thank for that as well as the digital addition of a symbolic and rather unsavory Mickey Mouse hat filled with cigarette butts and a crushed can of Red Bull to the side.
I wonder if she was aware of this cover before it went to press. I tend to think not since Blender noted that Britney didn't respond to their requests for an interview.
In any case, I read it and frankly, it's the first thing I've read about Britney in a long while that was, title notwithstanding, actual journalism as opposed to the standard sensationalistic, newsflashy fare that is usually served up in Brit's name.
