Britney Spears Not Capable of Entering a Plea
All Britney, all the time, continues in MamaPop legal watch. The Washington Post is reporting that the judge continued Britney Spears' driving-without-a-license
case Wednesday after her lawyers said they don't believe she is capable of resolving the matter.
Superior Court Judge T.K. Herman continued the misdemeanor case until March 20 after lawyer J. Michael Flanagan said Spears' conservatorship attorneys "do not think she is qualified or capable of entering into a binding agreement" at this time. The attorneys also don't believe she is capable of giving a deposition or signed declaration, Flanagan said.
I think Britney has a very serious mental health diagnosis. Court's do not make incompetency rulings lightly.

I think you're right, it's also a true last resort to lose custody of your children as a mother. I think we all hashed through this when she originally lost custody, but the fact that she still does not have visitation rights speaks volumes.
Poor thing. I've come full circle on her. I hope she's getting the treatment she needs.

OK, not to sound bitter here, because I do feel bad for the girl...
But basically, as it stands then, she can run around and do whatever the hell she wants and not be held accountable for any of it because she's "not competent"?
There's a piece missing in that puzzle.

Miss Brit-I agree completely. But, the way the law is set up you can't stand trial if you are not competent.

Isn't the alternative if you're declared incompetent supposed to be some kind of mandatory psychiatric treatment?
I swear that's how it works on Law and Order!
