Heath Ledger's Family and Town Mourn, Celebrate

Popsugar reports that about 600 people from Heath Ledger's hometown came out on Saturday to watch the sun go down and celebrate the actor's life with tears and laughter. Heath's former partner Michelle Williams read Shakespeare's "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day" sonnet *SOB* and the lullaby that Ben Harper had written for the couple's child, Matilda, was sung.

The mood turned sweet as the sun set and people splashed into the water to laugh and hug. The whole thing appeared to be an incredibly positive way to say goodbye to a loved one, and the photos weren't moments stolen by paparazzi but were meant to be shared with the world.

This whole thing has just been handled with such dignity and class. I think back to a year ago with Anna Nicole died and their just really is no comparison.
