Writer's Strike About 99% Over, Hopefully, Maybe

Wga_strike_2 So while I hesitate to post good news prematurely, lest I dash all your hopes and dreams of the day when your TiVo Recommendations List contains something other than cooking shows and Desperate Young-ish Things Shake Their Asses For An Aging Musician Whose Last Hit Was Probably Playing Over the Radio While They Were Conceived in the Backseat of a Car, but it looks like the strike may be over after this weekend.

A deal has supposedly been reached and will go to the writers for approval tomorrow. The Head Honchos seem extremely confident.

Former Walt Disney chief executive Michael Eisner said on CNBC, "It's over. They made the deal, they shook hands on the deal. It's going on Saturday to the writers in general." "A deal has been made, and they'll be back to work very soon."

He added later, "I know a deal's been made. I know it's over."

Terms of the deal are not public yet, and because anyone who is actually involved in the negotiations is not allowed to discuss the talks to the media, we have no idea just how full of shit Eisner is.

A WGA representative said, "The strike is NOT over -- as you know, we are under a press blackout, but I can tell you that the strike is NOT over." Spoilsport!

Keep your fingers crossed for Oscar red carpet action and more than eight episodes of Lost.

Amy H

so hopeful! My DVR misses doing its job. It needs a purpose in life. And I am about to go on maternity leave so I need quality tv to watch in all my free time. (ha!)

She Likes Purple

Also more than eight episodes of One Tree Hill but I may be the only one crossing my fingers about that.

Meg

Could it really be? I'm so sick of watching Antiques Roadshow that I could scream, oh please oh please, oh please.

Kelly J

Oh please, baby Jesus, let it be true!

Suzy Q

Jebus, save us all, in the name of Michael Eisner, Amen!
