Area Hooker Makes Good on MySpace, Plans to Upgrade to Solid Gold Heart
(And oh yeah, BREAKING NEWS! As of RIGHT NOW, Spitzer has officially stepped down and Paterson has been sworn in as New York's new governor. But that angle of the story has fewer prostitutes involved, so eff it.)
According to the New York Post, Kristen Ashley Youmans Ashley Alexandra Dupre has possibly made over $200,000 on downloads of her "singles" on MySpace and the music site Amie Street. The two songs "What We Want" and "Move Ya Body," have been available
to buy for 99 cents each, and with artists earning up to
70% of that.
And oh yeah, she's getting radio play! Because OF COURSE SHE IS.
Music execs are divided on her prospects, as People went digging for quotes:
"I think her song is absolutely terrible," Chris Anokute, Capitol Records Senior A&R Director, told Billboard.com. "If people are interested in signing her, then they shouldn't be in the music business."
But Atlantic Records's Brian Bergen admits he's intrigued. "I read [about Dupré] this morning and ... I really wanted to reach out to her," he told the music Web site. "I sit around hours and hours every day trying to figure out ways to break new artists. Right now, she has a platform to reach the masses."
In other news, did y'all see her topless photo spread in the New York Post? (Link is to Wonkette, but features a possibly NSFW boob-cuppage photo.) She's...22, despite a perfectly-believable rumor that she's actually 32.
"Rode hard and put away wet," my grandma would say.
"I CAN HAZ MOAR AIRBRUSHING?" my favorite Internet meme would say.
"And people gave ME shit for using a body double?" a Pretty Woman-era Julia Roberts would say.

Two thumbs down. This post is totally tacky and feeds the slut-shaming and denigration I've been fuming about for the last week. Boo.

Nah. If you don't want topless pictures of you out there- guess what? DON'T DO IT!
Prostitution is a shameful business and for once the john is getting the worse end of it- which is the way it should be- but let's let her feel a little bad as well. And yes, I know that many prostitutes are victims of bad circumstances. But I don't think that a $4K an hour hooker is one of the ones to feel sorry for.
