Shia LaBeouf's Attorney Manages to Show Up for Court
A $1,000 bench warrant issued on Tuesday for Shia LaBeouf was quashed on Wednesday when his attorney showed up a day late and a dollar short. Shia was not in the courtroom when his attorney entered a plea of not guilty.
He was cited last month for unlawful smoking. He was allegedly smoking on the sidewalk outside a shop called Skyblupink, a gift shop in Burbank, CA, when cops cited him.
A date of April 24 was set for an arraignment and pre-trial hearing. Shia's publicist has made no statements and no explanation was given as to why neither Shia or his attorney were present yesterday.
All I know, is had I not shown up for a court date, it would have warranted a visit from the sheriffs and a stay in the pokie. Not an oops, sorry, see ya later your honor.

I really don't think a misdemeanor offense would require time in the pokey for anyone, what with pokey overcrowding for felons and all.
Also, what's that tat on his side? I can't tell and, you know, inquiring minds and all...

I don't understand what "unlawful smoking" is. Is it smoking an unlawful substance in a lawful place OR smoking a lawful substance in an unlawful place?! Help me out ladies, this is driving me crazy!

It's smoking in an unlawful place. It's a ticket infraction in must places like disturbing the place or public drunkenness.
And Donna, you are right, I probably wouldn't have wound up in jail, but I certainly would have had to pay the fine or the sheriffs would have picked me up. Stars are treated much differently than everyone else.
