RIP: Jason Rae, Husband of Singer Corinne Bailey Rae

Very sad news out of England: People reports that saxophonist Jason Rae, the husband of soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae, was found dead in an apartment in Leeds on Saturday afternoon. He was 31.

Police suspect a drug overdose, but have yet to confirm that. The young couple met when Corinne worked in the coat room of a jazz club and married in 2001.

On a personal note, Corinne and I are the same age (29) and my husband and I have been together about the same amount of time as she and Jason. Obviously, it would be devastating to lose a husband at any age, but I can imagine how heartbreaking it must be to lose your husband so young, when life is really just starting, and under such tragic circumstances.

We extend our most sincere condolences to Corinne and to her and Jason's families.
