The Wire's Christopher Clanton IRL Stabbed in Baltimore
Christopher Clanton, better known as Barksdale crew member Savino on HBO's The Wire, was stabbed in Baltimore on Sunday (not at all far from Casa Angela, in fact). (Spoiler after the cut, proceed with caution.)
Clanton, whose run on The Wire ended when Omar Little shot Savino to death, was at a party at a social hall in the Overlea neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore when what he called "mayhem" broke out. As he was trying to maneuver past a fight, two other people started fighting with him instead, and he was stabbed in the chest and buttocks. Police found him, injured, after spraying pepper spray into the crowd to disperse the mayhem-ing crowd. (Jeez. They could have just called Niecy Nash. She'd have dealt with their mayhem AND their foolishness with no pepper spray at all.)
I didn't know this until just now: Clanton lives right up the road from me! (I won't visit, I swear. Unless you want me to. I'm just saying: our daughters are the same age. Playdate? Call me!)
I'm relieved to report that Clanton was in good condition at a nearby hospital as of yesterday, and may in fact already be at home at the time of this writing.
In other news, I finally got around to watching the series finale yesterday, and here is what I have to say: *SNIFF*! I will discuss this issue in much, much more detail (probably to the point of making people on the forums want to stab ME IRL) when I know that certain site overlords are all caught up on the show.

This is terrible news, and I'm happy he's ok, even though I don't watch The Wire (and yes, I know I should.)
But mostly I'd like to comment on how happy it makes me that so many of you MamaPop ladies are in the Baltimore/DC Metro area. You guys are way better than my local news, that's for sure.
Oh, and a Niecy Nash reference?! Awesome!

I agree with Robyn G. on all 3 counts. Niecy Nash would have definitely taken them all down.

Yep, I always enjoy the Baltimore stuff (obviously).
