From The Total Awesomeness Files: Obama Takes On Hasselbeck
Seriously. If I were American? I would totally be rooting for Barack Obama just on the basis of his genius handling of the stupidity that is Elisabeth Hasselbeck:
(Hasselbeck starts mouthing off at about the 4:00 mark; Obama takes her on at about 4:50/5:00)
(If you're not into video-clickage, the scoop is this: she goes all vapidly Hasselbecky on his ass about his relationship with his none-too-PR-friendly church minister, and he's all, like, whatevs, bizatch, how'd you feel if someone compiled all the stupid things you've ever said into sound-bites? Which? AWESOME IDEA OBAMA YOU GO DUDE WOOT!)
The ladeez over at Jezebel.com also thought that it was an awesome idea, so they obliged him by putting together just such a thing. Herewith, the Stupidity Of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, By Invitation Of Barack Obama. (Click HERE to view.)
You can thank me later. You know, by voting for Obama, or maybe just giving him a high-five next time you see him, from me.

HAHAHAHA! Check out Joy's face when Obama says to Elizabeth, "Imagine if someone complied the five stupidest things you've every said." Joy looks like she's about to burst!!

Kim - I was just going to mention that too - her expression is PRICELESS!
This clip (of Obama) just made me like him more. He's sharp and non-apologetic. Elizabeth Hasselbeck is a twat with a voicebox.
P.S. I find it VERY disturbing that Barbara Walters told Obama she thinks he's "very sexy." She so f'ing needs to retire!

Sorry Hillary, but how can I NOT vote for this guy?????

I love this. The more he talks, the more I understand what he wants to do....

Elisabeth is not "stupid," she's actually very intelligent. She happens to be a solitary (ultra) Conservative voice in a largely Liberal area of the media. She's also the lone Conservative on the View, which makes her point more difficult to get across. It's not as though Joy Behar is offering up seasoned, well formed responses.
Just thought I'd go there. ;)

I'm so glad it wasn't just me seeing the 'about to burst' look on Joy's face.
Mr Obama sounds very intelligent. I have been pro-Hillary until now... but this may change my mind a little. Not that it matters. I can't vote LOL

The difference being, of course, that someone who is running for president is NOT citing Elisabeth Hasselbeck as a major mentor or influence in their lives. Just sayin'.

Chatty Cricket - In this case, and in most cases, stupid has little to do with political affiliation or even IQ and EVERYTHING to do with the propensity to insert one's foot into one's mouth with great force and frequency.
Hasselbeck is an idiot and has bared her ass as one time and time again. And you can see her posturing and defensiveness again and again, yet she cannot form a coherent thought with any regularity...NOT EVEN A COHERENT REPUBLICAN THOUGHT.

I don't care if you like Elisabeth or not, she asked pointed questions and made his address them. Not like the other vapid idiots on the set telling him how sexy he is.

I find it interesting the number of people who will rush to defend someone like Elizabeth Hasselbeck, who is only spared from the seething critique that I would extend to someone like Anne Coulter BECAUSE she is an idiot, and call into conversation her "pointed questions" when the meat and matter of a gossip blog is neither political nor intellectual and more often than not...VAPID. Kind of like the e-version of the View, dontcha think?
Why are you jumping to defend this poor white woman when most folks would rather avoid real political discussion in an effort to keep this blog on topic?
PFFFFFT.

Furthermore, if you watch the video, Hasselbeck makes pointed JUDGMENTS more often than she asks questions...and even her judgments cannot escape the swirling, sucking vortex of her brain without sounding like a jumbled mess of faux intellect.
I mean, Joy Behar might be a sassy anti-intellectual, but at least she can speak a full sentence without fumbling or she consistently exhibits comedic poise. I think that's because, unlike Hasselbeck, she thinks before she speaks.

Hasselbeck is a hysterical ninny who regularly spouts nonsensical, non-truthful crap. She is only famous because she's a skinny chick that used to be on Survivor.
I miss Lisa Ling! Hell, I miss Debbie Matenopoulous.

Thank you BaltimoreGal. :-)

Anytime, girl.

I thought Obama stuttered and mumbled through his answers - even before Elisabeth started talking - he didn't seem to have a clar point or direction in where he was going.
And yes, Hasselbeck tends to go too far at times, but I think she asked questions in a very professional manner this time.

We don't get The View here in down-underville, but in that top photo what is up with Whoopi's body language? I hear she's quite argumentative on the show, but does she actually dislike the rest of the women, or is she turned away from Obama?
