Hospital Worker Fired For Leaking Farrah Fawcett's Medical Records
From the when will people ever learn file, another employee of UCLA Medical Center was fired for unauthorized viewing and leaking of medical records, this time Farah Fawcett's. This is the same hospital that fired 16 workers for snooping in Britney Spears records. Think they need to do a HIPAA training?
Farah was apparently the one who started the investigation. She brought concerns to a doctor that confidential medical information was being leaked to tabloids. And bam, she was right!
Farah's attorney, Kim Swartz, said an employee at the hospital accessed Farah's medical records without authorization, and details about her cancer treatment later showed up in the National Enquirer. The tabloid published details about a recurrence in Farah's cancer before she had a chance to tell family and friends, Swartz said.
"She's a very private person and she's reluctant to go public about this, let alone take legal action," Swartz said. "She's fighting for her life." "It's disturbing to her when there are false reports that she's given up and wants to die, when the opposite is true," said Swartz. "She's a strong person and a fighter."
We at MamaPop wish Farah all the best in her fight against cancer and recovery.

They could also use some HIPAA training. Sorry, jodifur, but it's the Health Insurance Portability and Acountability Act.
