So. First, there was the t-shirt that you see above: "The Rumors Are True." Which, as a professional rumor-spreader, I'm not sure how to take. Is it ironic? Is it sarcastic? Does it refer to recent rumors about her engagement to Casey Aldridge? Or to her rumored impregnation by some skeezy, much-older producer? Or to both? Are we being punk'd? Does she just have really bad taste in shirts? Does it matter?

Head. HURTING.

This message-in-a-t-shirt thing just really complicates the whole celebrity-gossip-media relationship. I mean, we're asked, by the t-shirt, to believe that the rumors are true. But if we start believing in t-shirts, what are we to make of this:

Expression of insecurity, or postmodern commentary on the media's obsession with the maternal figure? Or, again, just bad taste?
