Johnny Depp Is Officially Almost As Nice As Jesus

Note that I said almost. I wouldn't want to be, you know, heretical or anything, and anyway, I highly doubt that Johnny would die for our sins. (Turn water into wine, maybe, but only as Capt. Jack Sparrow, which sorta doesn't count and, also, turning water into wine is only self-sacrificial if one doesn't drink it oneself. ANYWAY.)

He would, however, throw himself in front of a runaway stunt car to rescue a clutch of extras from certain smushdom. Which, you have to admit, is about as self-sacrificial as it gets for celebrities these days, if you don't count staging interventions for drunk elephants.

Seriously, though: dude actually flung himself into a small crowd of extras who were about to be mowed over by a speeding stunt car and hustled them to safety. This, of course, was just a week after he spent some of his downtime hanging with coma victims. Obvz, not as impressive as hanging with lepers, but again, pretty good for a celebrity. Especially a hot one. Because, you know, he could just hang around and look pretty all day and I'd be fine with that.

But hanging around looking pretty and performing random acts of heroism and charitability? Dude could start his own religion.
