Rock The Cradle
Starting tomorrow night on MTV, the kids of some of America's most famous musicians (snort!) will be attempting to eclipse their parents' fame and fortune by competing American Idol style for a lucrative recording contract on the show Rock the Cradle. The catch? The audience gets to vote on which kids stay and which are shamed off the stage. The other catch?
Keep reading to find out!
The other catch is that each of these kids has the genetics to predispose them to rocker status. From the child of Olivia Newton-John to Al B' Sure, these kids have grown up in musical homes, watching their parents make millions off their voices and talents. Now it's there turn.
I'm most excited to see when the parents start to show up and tell their kids how it's done. Because these celebrities are bound to be the ultimate stage parents, and the drama is bound to be intense.
Even the MTV press release hints at this: "Despite many of them having issues and conflicted relationships, their celebrity parents will try to prepare and guide them through the process as they perform for a panel of judges and live audience each week. In the end, only one “offspring” will emerge victorious from their parents’ shadow."
For my part, I'll be bringing you all the awesome recaps your little hearts can handle, plus some insider videos and more. The show starts tomorrow night at 10pm EST, so tune in and bring your comments here on Friday afternoon for my recap!

Humm, I may just have to tune in for this one. Been a long time since I dialed up MTV on the old remote. :)

I'd like to watch this, for no other reason than I want to hear what Kenny Loggins' son Crosby (really? Crosby? As in David?) sounds like when he sings. Cuz I likes me some Loggins once in a while.

Did you guys catch the premiere last night? What did you think? I am actually helping out with the show and have been listening to some of the kids other music on myspace. There really is some talent there and I am looking forward to seeing what else these kids can do. Trying to escape your parents shadows and establish your own identity must be tough. I thought they all did a pretty good job last night. I like Kenny too, and I think Crosby was great! What did you think? Is there anyone you think stands out as the one that's going to make it?
