Kardashians Denying Stealing from Brandy's Mom

I'm still having a hard time figuring out exactly who the celebrity is in this story?  Who are the Kardashians are why are keeping up with them?  I must admit, I've never seen the show, just a million advertisements.

Kim Kardashian and her siblings have formally denied they charged more than $120,000 on Brandy's mom's credit card.  The papers they filed in response to the lawsuit state the Kardashians "deny generally and specifically each and every allegation." 

The lawsuit claims Kim and her siblings Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Jr., ran up the unauthorized charges in 2006 and 2007 and seeks return of the money plus 10 percent interest.  Kim worked as Brandy's stylist, and was given the American Express card to make "one (and only one)" purchase on behalf of Brandy's mom.  Allegedly, she then passed the credit card number along to her siblings.

Was this before or after the sex tape with Brady's brother, Ray J?  I can't keep all of this straight.

So...Are they going after American Express? Or the stores where purchases were made? American Express cards are not transferable. Says so right on the card (though very tiny). This is supposed to mean no one is allowed to use your card even if you gave it to them. Amex could totally charge it back to the stores for failure to comply with merchant agreement terms. But then again why do I even care?

But I don't think so, Brandy's mom is just suing the Kim and clan.
