The Soloist: I'm Sorry, But Did You Say Something After "Robert Downey, Jr.?"
I'm still wiping the drool off of my chin from Iron Man, but this morning I read that Robert Downey Jr. will star with Jamie Foxx in a movie called The Soloist, due out this December.
The Soloist is the true story of Nathaniel Ayers (Foxx), "a musical prodigy who developed schizophrenia during his second year at The Juilliard School." Ayers find himself homeless and playing violin and cello for change on the streets of L.A. Journalist Steve Lopez (Downey, Jr.) stumbles upon him one day and writes a series of articles about Ayers for the LA Times. While it sounds like an inspirational story, I feel like the movie will be a little too heartwarming for my cold heart.

It could have that whole downward spiral into hell feeling that we all enjoy. Intersperse that with some of the journalists personal home life problems or something equally banal and voila! a much less heartwarming film.
