Uma Thurman Marrying Financier, Ethan Hawke Weeps
(Okay, so I have no confirmation of Ethan Hawke's weeping, I'm just making an informed, educated guess here.)
(Also: What exactly IS a financier? I mean, besides being someone with a whole lot of freakin' money?)
So this is kind of weird (or is it?): Uma and her beau Arpad Busson actually took out an ad in a newspaper to announce their engagement:
Keen-eyed readers of Saturday's edition of The Times newspaper will have spotted, discretely placed amongst the other personal announcements, news of the couple's joy.
The declaration, headed: "Mr A Busson and Miss U Thurman", read: "The engagement is announced between Arpad, son of Mr Pascal Busson, of Paris, and Mrs Florence Harcourt-Smith of South of France, and Uma, daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert AF Thurman, of New York".
Klassy! Or is it Classy? I have no sense of these things, you see. I am decorum and etiquette deficient.
Anyway dude is a multimillionaire and was married previously to model Elle MacPherson. So that's... good? I guess?
Clearly I'm ambivalent. And/or confused. If I'm being perfectly honest, a large part of me wishes Uma had just stuck with Gary Oldman (awesome!), yanno? Would've saved us a whole lot of trouble and heartache, what with that whole sordid Ethan Hawke affair. I mean, not that OUR feelings matter or anything. cough.
Soooo... Congratulations to the happy couple! (I think?)

Maybe Ethan will be so upset he'll take a shower*.
*TM - a friend who is far funnier than I.

I think the ad is kind of funny, beating the paps to the punch and all that. The fact that it's worded like and actual, old fashioned, engagement announcment that would be in any newspaper I think makes it pretty classy, C and everything.
I'm glad she's happy.
I was reading an interview with her in RedBook a while back and remember thinking, "Wow, Ethan Hawke is some kind of special moron."

When this hit the papers the other day down here, the article(s) went something like, "Ms. Thurman has been married twice before, previously to Ethan Hawke." And I was like, DUDES, you left out GARY.
The HERESY!
But that's just the stalker-ish fan within me clawing out.....:) :)

I saw her on oprah recently and she said that when Ethan Hawke left her she literally could not get out of bed. And I thought, how wonderful for women to know that even women who look like that, have men that leave them. Really. And I'm so glad she admitted it was not sunshine and roses and they are not "good friends."
Good for her, she always seemed like a class act.

Ethan was really bad when they splitt. Ethan's parents got divorced when he was so young. So... we can wonder that he suffered because, like his parents, his marriage didn't work out. Definitely he is sorry for that. People think about Uma Thurman like a Goddess but she doesn't. She is a human being and she made mistakes too. All of us know that Tarantino hang over Uma all the time. But the press blamed only Ethan for what happened. I'm glad Ethan is happier now. And I glad Uma is happier too. Sorry my words mistakes. I don't speak English but I needed to talk about this.

I'm at the Ana's house and I took advantage to talk to you that I love Ethan.
