Your Favorite Neighborhood Pot Lady Is Back In Business!

Weeds4_wall_v2_800x600

What do you do if you live in a swank So Cal suburb and your husband suddenly dies, leaving you jobless and with two teenage boys to raise? If you’re Nancy Botwin, you become a drug dealer and star in one of Showtime’s most beloved shows, Weeds.

But what do you do if that swank So Cal suburb goes up in smoke after wildfires spread farther than they should have (with a little help from your dealer buddies), and the house you were growing your weed in gets busted by the DEA? If you’re Nancy Botwin, you pack up and move to the border to become a drug runner. Wait, what?!

Within hours of watching her beloved Agrestic burn to the ground, Nancy packs up Silas and Shane and Uncle Andy and makes a run for as close to the border as she can stand. Which, as it turns out, is within borer-hopping distance of the huge wall dividing white from brown, rich from poor, the United States from Mexico. Looks like she wasn’t just heading off to start a new life away from the drug trade she’d grown to love. Instead she’s moved south to branch out into a new version of the same old same old … this time she’ll work directly for Guillermo, running things back and forth across the border for him.

Nancy, Nancy, Nancy, when will you learn that working for gangster drug dealers never works out in your favor?

While she’s setting up shop with long-lost family, in the form of Judah and Andy’s dad Lenny, she’s left her old “friends” to clean up her mess. Celia might just end up taking the full force of the blame for the grow house fiasco, spending much of the first few episodes becoming her cell-mate’s “special friend” while waiting for her hearing date to arrive. Doug and Dean are setting up house with Isabelle in a hotel, and Conrad and Heylia are nowhere to be found.

That’s right people, there’s no Conrad or Heylia this season. Apparently the budding romance between Nancy and Conrad didn’t excite the writers as much as it did all the show’s fans, because these two have hightailed it before we could even say goodbye. Unless they’re going to show up towards the end of the season, which is still my childlike hope, which will inevitably get crushed as Nancy moves on to her hot new boyfriend and new life as a drug runner.

So will the show be as good as previous seasons? So far I’m saying yes, although with life moving so fast for the Botwins, I guess anything can happen. Who’s going to tune in with me every week to find out?

WTF?!?! NO CONRAD or HEYLIA!?!?! I am actually spending my entire day watching last season so I can be fully prepare but I cannot believe this. Heylia made that show some times. Ugh. We'll see how this all pans out.

robyn

i'll say it again. i'm not 100% on the no conrad or heyla thing, but they aren't listed in the "cast" section of Weeds' website, and they didn't appear in the least in the first few episodes i got to sneek preview. i'm of the opinion it's a HORRIBLE idea, but i had to warn people.

Amity

OMG, no Conrad and Heylia... :(
