Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey's Son is Born

This has got to be one seriously cute kid, you guys.  They are scrumptious.

Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey (it always takes me ten tries to get that spelled right) welcomed their new baby yesterday (on the same day as Nicole Kidman!).  He was born at 6:22 p.m. in Los Angeles and weighed 7 lbs., 4 oz.  Damn celebrities and their wee spawn.  I'm still suffering the emotional aftereffects, five years later, of my kid having been inexplicably damn near nine pounds.  And I totally did write that here so that everyone would lavish me with accolades and sympathy, so get to it, betches.

McConaughey gave the following statement to OK! Magazine (one day we will have to talk about why celebs talk to OK! Magazine, because I don't think I understand that at all):

A healthy baby boy was born.  Camila and I were side by side the entire time. We are both tired and elated, and are so happy to have created the greatest miracle in the world — having a child and making a family. Now comes the greatest adventure — raising one, together.

SNIFF!  He is cute, y'all.  Bizarre and Harrelsonesque a lot of the time, but cute.  Many good wishes to the new mama and papa.

I don't know if I've ever seen a picture of her before - gorgeous! Yeah, that kid is gonna be all set in the cute department. Now let's just hope Matthew doesn't name him "Pabst Blue Ribbon McConaughey." Actually, let's hope that he DOES do that. Hee.

Sorry, Catherine. DD was 9lb 10oz - natural birth. But I do feel your pain - well, I did 11 yrs ago.
