Did Sarah Jessica Parker's Husband Have Some Sex in the City without Her?
Rumors are swirling that Matthew Broderick' stepped out on his wife of 11 years, Sarah Jessica Parker, while she was filming the big screen adaptation of "Sex and the City."
The other woman in question is claimed to be a 25-year-old youth worker whom Broderick met in a Manhattan bar last November. The pair's affair reportedly lasted until February.
This isn't the first time we've heard this rumor; people have been whispering about Broderick's infidelity for months now. It is claimed that Broderick was seen carrying wine and flowers to the woman's apartment. His spokesperson issued a simple, non-denial "no comment" regarding the matter.
While Broderick has starred in a couple of Broadway plays, "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying" and "The Producers" (costarring Nathan Lane) his star isn't nearly as bright as that of Parker's. Is this just another case of a man who can't handle having a more successful wife?

Oh Noooooo... I really love these two together :(.

Um, winning a Tony doesn't count as your star shining? Listen, I know that theatre doesn't necessarily make him as FAMOUS, that doesn't necessarily make him any less successful. If simply being more well known was the scale for success, think how many nuclear physicists would be considered less successful than Paris Hilton. Sad notion, huh?

I've actually always wondered how these two fit together. He seems like such a normal, guy-next-door kind-of guy. She's always struck me as high-maintenance. I haven't been a fan since she won her first Emmy for Sex and the City, forgot to thank her hubby, then went on to defend herself by saying SHE earned it and didn't NEED to thank him...even though she thanked everyone else under the sun.
Sorry - didn't mean to rant. Anyway - what I meant is that seeing him with someone considered more "normal" - like a youth worker - just seems more natural to me. Although I will never, EVER condone infidelity.

Oh, this makes me sad.
(Aside: I cannot imagine walking into a Manhattan bar and seeing Ferris Effing Bueller in the flesh. Surreal.)

Yeah, this will make me sad, too. They seem like a nice fit in an "opposites attract" kinda way, and I've admired that they've stayed NYers and not paraded down every red carpet, etc.

OR could this just be another case of a man wanting to have sex with someone other than his wife...
(Sometimes I think the whole, "She's more successful." card is looking too deeply at a straight-up cheater.)

I just have to say -- SJP has never struck me as high maintenance. Carrie Bradshaw? Yes. SJP? No. Two very different people.
Even her clothing line is about comfortable, affordable clothing for everyone -- I think she's just about as average and girl next door as it gets in hollywood circles.

Sounds like a typical case of mid-life crisis to me. While the cat's away...

OK, first he needs a better publicist. Rule #1 in PR Club: Never say "No comment." No comment says a lot.
According to Dana's post, rumors have been swirling for months so I wonder why it's just hitting mainstream gossip now?
And I've heard SJP is pretty low-key. You don't really hear about her partying or her awful, demanding ways.
I really hope this story is false because these cases destroy any hope I have in marriages lasting forever without infidelity. People, it's not hard. Keep it in your damn pants.

He's a guy; they all screw around and think they can get away w/it

Wow, overgeneralize much, Marie?
Not all men screw around. Rarely do all members of any one group of people behave exactly the same, especially a group that comprises, oh, 50% of the population.

When I was in college at UNC (~10 years ago), Matthew was in town for a month acting in one of the university's productions. My friend's girlfriend and her roommate were drama majors and the roommate lost her virginity to him. I think he and SJP were engaged at the time.
