Eddie Murphy Might Retire from Movie-making...Promise?

Hey! How many of you are going to see Meet Dave? I mean, how could you not, based on how awesome Norbit was?

Yep, that's what I thought.

And apparently, Eddie Murphy is finally getting the hint, too. He's toying with the idea of quitting the movie biz. Honestly, I think this is the best idea that he's had in a looooooooong time. Especially after hearing about his negotiation meeting for Beverly Hills Cop 4 (yes, you read that correctly):

“The producers wrote some s**t down on paper and I said, ‘Is this your phone number?’ and they said, ‘This is how much we’re going to pay you.’ I said, ‘Let’s go shoot it! I don’t care if the script isn’t right.’ ”

Pssshhhhh. Look, I understand needing some money and doing some b.s. to get it, but the problem is that he keeps forcing his lack of integrity onto the innocent public.

He mentions that he might go back to being a stand-up comedian, which may or may not be a good idea. His stand-up 25 years ago was pretty groundbreaking, but I have a feeling that now it would just feel like someone gave your bitter, alcoholic uncle a microphone at Thanksgiving. I think I speak for all of us when I say, "DO. NOT. WANT."
