David Arquette, Ben Harper, and Propr Clothing

Harperarquette

Yes, all the words in that title are spelled correctly. David Arquette and Ben Harper have teamed up to launch a new fashion line in September called Propr. You know they must be rich enough to do it on their own, because I don't know who would commit to an investment in clothing styled by the above two fashion trainwrecks.

Okay, to be fair, they are not always fashion trainwrecks. Both David Arquette and Ben Harper tend toward the more relaxed jeans-and-tshirts kind of daily dress with a tendency toward openly pot-friendly attire. In fact, I kind of like their relaxed style most of the time. Minus the hat and the appliquéd marijuana leaves, I have stuff that looks a lot like this:

And also minus the platter of cannabis buds.

It is not the kind of streetwear their bongs might inspire that worries me, though. What I am worried about is what kind of evening/red carpet craziness they might concoct. I fear that it may end up looking a little something like Elvis meets John Candy. Note the mock Harper/Arquette amalgam below:

I hope that they have some kind of mentor to guide them along the way, because come September, the Propr clothing line is going to hit the runway, and my fingers are crossed that they will keep the flames and John Candy-esque plaid out of it lest some 20-something dufuses pick this out as the new cool and molest our eyes with it all winter.
