Jack White, Alicia Keyes, New Bond Song
Thank jeebus for Jack White, for if he and Velvet Revolver did not exist I would seriously fear for the state of blues-based, i.e. REAL, rock music. Jack White wrote and performed on this track, "Another Way to Die," the theme for the frillionth Bond movie, "Quantum of Solace." It was originally slated to be a Mark Ronson - Amy Winehouse song, but Wino was too busy chopping rock and melting spoons to contribute and let me be on Team Thank Goodness, because Wino, like Lily Allen apparently, is only as good as her producer. Jack White and Alicia Keys? They don't need engineer pixie dust to make magic happen.
A lot of people will be eager to tear up this collaboration because White and Keys seem like an odd mix; rock? R&B?
Of course, those people will completely overlook the many shared progressions and theories which make those two genres siblings and therefor, quite complimentary. I dig the song; it's hotter than anything on the radio right now. Jack White is a guitar genius. (Sartorialists say that good fashion relies in leaving the composition slightly undone so that there is room for the imagination to play. It's that very application White uses with the White Stripes. In an era of over-production, the breathing room, the organic garage quality of Jack White is a godsend.) His penchant for song writing and pulling great riffs out of the either coupled with Keys vocals and smoldering tonality make a classic combo. Plus, Jack White is simply all-around awesome. I'm a major fan of his aesthetic. Enjoy!

The best part(s)? Alicia's voice vs. Jack's guitar! Damn, I love me some Bond theme songs! How is it that such an old franchise always manages to have such wicked theme music? I'm STILL rocking out to the Chris Cornell one (seriously, how my kid doesn't have hearing loss, I'll never know)

I like the song, but really, Amy Winehouse and Jack White together on a Bond theme? Shirley Bassey would have some serious competition.
Personally, I had always hoped that The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion would've gotten the chance to do a Bond theme. That would've been cool.

Awesome song! But you meant "Another Way to Die" not "Die Another Day", right? That were the last movie, or summat.

I'm glad they avoided writing a song called Quantum of Solace.
