Madonna Guy Ritchie Divorce Getting Nasty, or Should I Say Staying Nasty?

Guy Ritchie recently turned down a settlement offer of 20 million pounds which is roughly over 30 million U.S. dollars as he and Madonna continue to bicker over homes and custody of their children.  Rumor is that they have stopped talking and only communicate through lawyers.

I just feel bad for their children.  How awful for them.  Especially since they are now gathering evidence on each other's parenting skills in preparation for a custody fight.  Domestic staff members have been asked to provide statement by both sides.

Guy hopes to prove that Madonna is too controlling with the kids, forcing a macrobiotic diet and banning TV.  Guy also claims Madonna was not involved with the children and they were mainly raised by nannies.  Madonna hopes to show that Guy is “emotionally distant”, swears in front of the children and on occasion would come home drunk after nights out with friends.  I'm also guilty of the later two.  Uh Oh.  I probably should not have a custody fight with Madonna.

They are also still fighting about where the children will live.  Madonna wants them in New York and Guy wants them in London.

I've never been divorced and I'm sure it's totally awful, but I hate when people do this to their children.  Sit down in a room with a mediator and figure it out.  You are going to litigate 1/3 of your millions away if you keep this up and in the end no one wins.

Kabbalah leaders are also calling for a truce in the war.  One would hope it would be because the awful effect it is going to have on the kids, but no, they are worried about "their image" if the divorce goes to trial.  Guy must have some good dirt on the Kabbalah church because they really don't want a court fight and are begging Madonna to settle this.  They have offered to do their own mediation but Madonna is worried they will give Guy too much money and too much access to the kids to get this out of the news.

Makes you wonder what he knows.  Especially since it is rumored than one of the reasons behind the split is Madonna's devotion to Kabbalah.

Divorce is the tearing asunder of heaven and earth in the child's psyche. Plus it's expensive. I like to think that millions of dollars would take the edge off busted up love. Guess not.

I spent my teen years traveling back and forth between divorced parents in Las Vegas and Indiana. It sucked. I can only IMAGINE what it would be like going back and forth from NY to London. Ugh.

I have a divorced/remarried neighbor who shares custody with his ex. The sad thing is, every time mom screws up the custody agreement he feels he has to take her to court in order to show his son that he is willing to fight for him. Divorce is ugly, and I hope if I'm ever there I'm big enough to actually put my kids first.

Shared custody is bullshit and totally selfish of parents. This is so sad. Divorce sucks for kids. Period.
